Get Baby to Sleep at your Travel Destination
March 10, 2020

So you’ve made it to your end-destination and you think it’s time to relax. If you are changing time zone by more than a few hours, I would say that the next few days are the most challenging.

  2. Keep the type of beds similar to the ones at home if possible.

  3. Stay with your little ones (or stay close) the first 1-2 days. They might be terrified of their new surroundings.

What were you doing back in May 2015? Yup, I had no clue either until my husband recently reminded me of our very first US and NM camping trip with a series of pictures. And it made me realize how basic our setup was - and how little we needed to have a great time. If you worry about not having the right or enough gear to go camping, then, my friend, you want to read this.

The Medano Pass & Great Sand Dunes, CO - Testing our new (used) Oztent RV-5 as a family
October 4, 2018

After much debate and flirtation with instant tents and roof top tents, a used Oztent big enough for the 5 of us showed up on the Expedition Portal. An offer too good to refuse. So we set off for Pueblo, CO, to meet with seller. From there we backtracked towards the Medano Pass on the way to Great Sand Dunes National Park.

It was a bit unnerving leaving behind our well loved Springbar tent, assuming the Oztent would work out just fine. It at least looked pretty neat on the roof top (which is really all that matters if you ask my husband).

    about-mama

    HI, I’M SUSANNE

I’m a Danish expat wife to M. Mama x2 (3) to E and O and Biscuit. Overlander. Camper. And overseas traveler.

Having kids is only the beginning of your adventures. I want to inspire you, mama, to continue or embark on your camping, overlanding and traveling adventures with your kids.

I promise you that you don’t have to be an expert at camping or overly brave to get outside and explore - you just have to plan a little and remember lots of wipes, diapers and snacks!

Let me show the way by simplifying and exemplifying what we do when we go on adventures into the wilderness as a family. I want to make YOU your family’s adventure expert.
